Airdrops from Howey Tez?

What are airdrops? Historically, this was mostly a term associated with the military or in times of emergencies whereby cargo, supplies or personnel are dropped by parachute from an airplane in flight.

With the advent of smartphones in the last decade, airdrops became a means of sharing files by facilitating their instantaneous transfer across interoperable operating platforms through Bluetooth connectivity.

In the newly developed world of crypto, airdrops have taken a whole new significance again. These days when we hear the word ‘airdrop’, we think of crypto, digital and NFT freebies given out to community members of a crypto project with the potential for future astronomical gains.

You see, each IXAPE holder has a dedicated whitelisted wallet address,  much like the old world physical mailing address of members to a club, service or brand.

For those of you old enough to remember Reader’s Digest… yes it still exists apparently, albeit both in physical and digital format these days. You’ll  remember being sent not just copies of your magazine subscriptions but sweepstakes and on occasion certain special rewards in your physical mailbox.

Of course, in the internet age, we are used to receiving coupons, offers, spam and even scam mail on our email addresses as we go through our Web 2.0 internet life. Examples of these include signing on to service providers ranging from online shops and food delivery service, to our semi-voluntary inclusion into the mailing lists of our various in real-life transactions.

In the new world of Web 3.0,  our wallet addresses, much like their old-world counterparts of the physical mailing address and email addresses, act as identifiers whereby related or wholly unrelated blockchain-based projects may target for the ‘airdropping’ crypto assets and other promised, benefits.

In the case of IXAPE, each wallet address holding IXAPE will be whitelisted as a preferred member of the InvestaX family who are entitled to exclusive and limited access products & services, promotions and yes you heard it right… crypto airdrops from time to time.

What kind of crypto airdrops can IXAPE holders expect? Well, the possibilities are endless. Howey Tez has assigned the full commercial rights of his NFT image to Howey Tez Pte Ltd, which means that derivative NFTs of BAYC #2371 may be on the cards. This is similar to what Adidas has done with Indigo Herz or BAYC #8774, by creating a derivative NFT series tied to real-world sporting goods and future entry into the metaverse.

Going back to Howey Tez’s roots, the latest major airdrop by Yuga Lab’s to the BAYC community entitled each BAYC holder to receive 10,094 Apecoins. The much-anticipated airdrop took place on 18 March 2022. During its initial launch, the price of each Apecoin spiked to approximately US$18. Astonishingly, Apecoin hit its all-time-high of approximately US$26 just before the launch of BAYC’s Otherside Metaverse on 30 April 2022. At that point, it meant that each BAYC holder who received the ‘free’ 10,094 Apecoins was sitting on over US$250,000 of pure profit just from the Apecoin airdrop, if they had decided to sell their tokens.

So back to IXAPE… Time will tell, see you on the otherside.
